Cosmic Rock

The greatest band in the land, the baddest band in the land, whatever you call them, there is little doubt that few has rocked as well as the four guys that made up the band Led Zeppelin. Of course, early on, Jimmy called he initial incarnation of the band the New Yard Birds. However, after a comment from a critic: “That’ll go over like a lead zeppelin,” the iconic groups destiny to be called Led Zeppelin was fulfilled.

When I was child they were classified as Acid Rock. Their lyrics were often as mystical as an acid trip, so I understand why they were grouped into this category all too well. But outside of this pigeon-holed concept, they were cosmic. And anyone who had ever heard the song “Kashmir” can attest to this. Cosmic they are. With this being said, Led Zeppelin is the epitome of what I am calling Cosmic Rock.
